Hurrah, more blue sky the first day, sorry everyone!!! ;) Though you will be pleased to know that the weather over the last few days hasn't been great but it might do my skin a bit of good I suppose. Gorgeous beach at byron bay, and very busy on Wednesday. Once the midday heat passed, we took the opportunity to have a walk up to the byron bay lighthouse. 2 hours later we got there but the views were very worth it. The coastal walk also takes you to the most easterly point of Australia so of course a perfect photo opportunity! In the evening we took advantage of the $5 meal at cheeky monkeys, followed by an evening there consisting mainly of dancing on tables. Oops! Thursday I explored the town and decided to book in a load of my tours so I knew how much money I had left for everything else. Feeling very poor but oh well, fingers crossed it'll all be worth it :) decided that I'm only here once so I may as well do it all properly! The evening was a friend of mines birthday so we had a few drinks at he hostel, though I couldn't quite muster up the energy to go out again! Yesterday (5th April) I had a day trip to Nimbin, a village about 70km from byron. When a place adopts the title 'drug capital of Australia' it's hard to know what to expect really. Despite not really being my kinda thing, the actual place was incredibly interesting and the lifestyle difference is incredible. I was told I could only cut my hair at new moon as that's when all growth excels.... Hmm!! Next stop was a BBQ spot in the middle of nowhere by a large dam with very nice scenery. Shame the weather wasn't perfect as visibility wasn't huge. The slightly quirky bus driver told us all that we would risk going to see a waterfall in the 'winewine' rainforest, and at the time I wasn't quite sure what the risk was... Turns out getting a rather large rainbow bus along a tiny and very flooded track with a 100ft drop either side of us is a little sketchy!!! We made it alive though and saw a very large 120ft waterfall, unfortunately not swimmable-in but still laavely, with a beautiful view looking over the top of miles and miles of rainforest. The evening was another trip to cheeky monkeys which ended slightly badly, turns out free drinks vouchers can be a little dangerous... At least now I've run out of goon so I'll have to have a few days off. Can't afford it anyway! Today was a bit slow but I've spent the afternoon planning more of my trip so I'm now sorted for the next couple of weeks which is good. Having a chilled evening tonight before heading off to surfers paradise early tomorrow morning. Nice to know I've got an extra hours sleep tonight as the clocks are changing :) much needed!!! Amy x

Mark Cheeky Monkeys! we went their everynight as we stayed at the place opposite (ahh table dancing!). Didnt stop in surfers paradise but the theme parks seemed good if you can afford it (also look out for the meter-maids!) Keep having fun!
