So we had 2 days in Bangkok - very different to Hong Kong (in a good way though). It was full of people, most of which were stood cooking on carts on the side of the road. Best Chinese/thai I have ever had!! Had a 2 course meal with a drink for roughly 50p!! Not bad eh!! Haha! Big Johns hostel is what I call a proper one - only has dorms to stay in so we were straight in there!! Shared with a load of lads! There was me n lisa - then Mike, Scott, Reece, Matt, Sam and Ryan!! 2 from oz, n unfortunately 4 from England! But it was cool! Shared lots of stories bout our travels so far, gained some knowledge, had a big laugh n also headed out as a hostel (we were the only ones staying there at this point!) over to the Witches Tavern for girls drink free night!! Oh yes - what a night!! Funny times!

We were sat outside the pub - as you do - n out of the blue one of them shouts…"look….its an elephant!!" sure enough, over the other side of what was a normal high street was this cute lil elephant with some thai guy sat on his head shouting 20 baht, 20 baht!! Wicked! Even left our ciders to shoot over to see if it was real or not!! Oh yesh it was!! Scott jumped on it n I saw it as an ideal photo opportunity!!

Woke up feeling fine as normal - don't do hang overs thanks to my good old gramp! So up we got to plan our trip up to the North of Thailand - Chiang Mai being the destination of choice! Booked our hostel, sorted an over night bus (trains were out due to all the trouble in Bangkok n Phuket) so jumped a taxis n headed to the bus for our 10 hour journey north!
