Its official, we only have 2 more days left in Hong Kong! Not very happy at this point as we were really getting into our stride with the whole touristy thing! But yep - defo giving Hong Kong the thumbs up, we proceeded to do our last 3 days worth and go out with a bang! (not literally the laptop is working well…..after a few knock backs but yeah - its all gravy baby!!). So last on the list is The Peak, Kung Fu Corner hiiiiyaaa!! And a place called Ngong Ping 360! Plus a new hostel - just as good as the old one but much cheaper - Sun King Hostel Causeway Bay Hong Kong!
The Peak - wow hopefully you have checked out the pictures already n seen how gorgeous the views are from the Peak. Basically, it is a massive skyscrapper, on top of a mountain, overlooking the whole of Hong Kong. It stands a whole 428 metres above sea level, and at an angle of 45 degrees is which the buildings sit at!! The way up is by the Peak Tram, yep pretty steep tram bus thing that's being held on by a flimsy cable!! Very scary but wicked when ya get to the top lol! Once you get to the top, you have a big range of shopping stores, fancy restaurants (including bubba gump from the well known film), madam tusauards, EA sports, and not forgetting the views! Wow…amazing.
Everybody was kung fu fighting….doododoajdidiaidua…..they were fast as lightening! Wah muuuchop!! Was sooo looking forward to this!! Headed back over to the lovely Kowloon (by the ferry again) to Kowloon Park. This was where the weekly run Kung Fu Corner was held. It was like a festival with a difference! It had dancing Chinese dragons, kung fu, Chinese dancing n wicked music! Was ace to see the pros at the kung fu - made me want to go out n kick some Chinese butt! didn't think it was that good of an idea though so stayed firmly in my seat snapping away the best I could! They had a mix of age groups - probably from 9 or 10 up to grampy ages! They were the ones doing more dancing than kung fu though!! Really cool day out - it was on from like 2.00-4.30 also so it was mega hot duiring it n they all were awesome!! Wicked way to spend a Sunday!!
Ngong Ping 360!! This was more cable cars but oh my god - proper cable cars cause these were going over the hills n far away!! Trust me on this one - these were bloody high yes!! Check out the vids n pics to get what im saying on this one!! But wow - again incredible views from the top well from start to finish actually. When you get to the top you are welcome by the biggest seated bronze Buddha in the world!! She was pretty big I suppose! It was nice to see so many people (obviously locals) here n worshipping or praying in front of her. Lots and lots of them - felt very powerful up there, that's also because we were sop gad damn high above the sea!! But it was that high we had to climb (in the heat again) 276 (ish) steps to get to the old Buddha! It was cool though.
So yeah that was another country done - 2 down, 7 more to go!! Sad to leave Hong Kong but again very happy to be heading to Thailand for our next adventure!!
