Hi
So I managed to get here okay after what seemed to be forever sat on a plane! After an emotional goodbye to my mum at heathrow, I thought I might never stop crying but once through security I composed myself. The only good thing about the plane journery was the food and the smoking room at Singapore. I have to say I was actually dying for a cigarette after 13 hours.
Customs in Sydney were fine, I even declared chocolate and they still didnt search my whole bag. And thankfully there were no sniffer dogs in sight. Woop Woop.
I got a cab with 2 others from the airport as the shuttle service was no longer running. Very expensive and the cab driver had no idea where he was going! As if I did????
Checked into my hostel which was nothing exciting. But at least a bed. The girls in my dorm do not seem very friendly, not one has spoken to me yet and when i speak to them they tend to just grunt and ignore me! Nice!!! Hopefully some friendly people will arrive soon. I went to the bar attached to the hostel, and met a few guys whilst smoking. Had to run away from one in the end. Had 2 beers and a jager then went to bed at about 3am.
Woke up early as i had lots to do! Seemed to be a mission opening a bank account but eventually got there in the end. Mum watch this space for an email about transfering the rest of my money! I then went in search of a sim card that meant i could use blackberry! IMPOSSIBLE! they do not exsist - well there is one but the man could not guarantee it would work and as they were not cheap I thought better of it! Just have a regualr SIM card now that has cheap calls to the UK.
The weather here is hot and muggy! I have had some bad news today - the oz experience bus may not run! Not really sure what I am going to do, Im crossing my fingers and hoping it does. As of yet I have not really made a friend, most people here seem to not understand english, there are a lot of Chinese. But it is still early days. Im optimistic.
Internet here is expensive, actually everything is.
Take Care and Lots of Love to Everyone reading this.
