We've added a few blog entries at once so hopefully this will work and make sense! :-) On Tuesday 29th we had a really rubbish breakfast at the Fawlty Towers hotel - we turned up to find hard boiled eggs, some bread, and some sad looking fruit. We were told we could request eggs cooked to our liking, but when I ordered fried eggs, the waiter looked at me, then said "you have omelette?". I said no, but then they promptly brought me an omelette anyway. ...

On the 26th we were up at 4.30am (!) and left Dar es Salaam for Baubab Camp, named after the "upside down" trees that are prolific in the area. Apparently some live for up to 4,000 years! The campsite was really nice and in the evening we got to sit back and look at the stars, spotting the milky way and about a million other stars - loads more than back in London!! :-)On Sunday 27th we left the camp after pancakes for breakfast (yum!) and a lie in (9.30...

The day after Simon's birthday, the 23rd, we spent the day lazing on the beach at Zanzibar. We went for a walk down the beach to the lighthouse and turtle sanctuary, and were approached by a local guy called Moses who chatted with us and told us about his brother who lived in Coventry! Well we're in Zanzibar now and it's such a nice break! No chores, no putting up tents - luxury! I'll carry on where I left off last time - on Friday 18th we visited the Ngorongoro Crater (so named because it's the noise the Masai cow bells make!), and then in the evening after about 10 hours of game driving, we went back to our campsite where we watched some local youngsters doing some traditional dancing and singing, which was really good - we bought a copy of ...

Sorry for the long delay, there hasn't been much internet access and we've been so busy! On Sunday 13th we left our hotel in Nairobi and joined up with the tour.
