Tuesday 7th April
I awake early with stomach cramps and diarrhoea. When it's time to get up and pack my bags, skip breakfast. It is a long bus ride today to Puno and lake Titicaca; 7.5 hours and I feel absolutely awful. I don't want to take anything. Even rehydration drink I brought at bus station. We watch movies and sleep and eventually we stop for a lunch break. I'm grateful for the toilet and walk around until we leave. After several more hours we arrive in Puno. Puno is known for its buildings not being painted, so red brick it is. It makes it look like a poor area. A bit slummy. Our hotel is nice with wooden staircases and wide hallways. The rooms floors are very polished and you have to be careful not to skip.
The group goes for a mini tour with our CEO around where we are staying. It's not so bad when you on the ground level. We stop by the supermarket for more rehydration drink and fruit. The checkout lines are so slow. The check out chicks are in NO rush. Back at the hotel I try and shower but the water is cold. Eventually I figure it out and get into bed. Malcolm goes to tea without me. A few other girls offer for me to go with them to get something plain like rice, but I opt for an early night. I go to sleep around 8 & Malcolm wakes me to open the door after 10. It's all a daze and I'm soon back to sleep.
