Sunday 7th June
Leaving day! We pack up and have breakfast. There's not heaps of rush as the bus tour doesn't start till 9. We leave our bags in storage and head to the square where the tour starts. We have to wait awhile, but end up being the only ones on our bus! There is explanation in Spanish which we don't understand. It's not till the trip is nearly over that we see the sign and get headphones! It's a nice trip. We see some really nice areas. When we return to the square we go collect our bags and walk to the bus station. It's only just under 3km and the day actually warmed up. We make our way through the maze that surrounds the terminal. We figure where to get tickets and get in a bus within a few minutes. Thankfully it's only a short trip of about 2 hours. There are huge areas leaving Mexico if grey slums. It's sad. There are also other areas of yellow houses all the same in gated areas. Like government housing project of something. It's better than the grey. The country side is pretty. On reaching Puebla we get a prepaid taxi. Very cheap here like $5 for about 20 min. The hostel is lovely and close to the centre. We look up restaurants and head to check out the cathedral. There are heads of ppl milling out and clowns doing performances. Ppl selling clouds of balloons. A really nice vibe. We figure out a bus tour got tomorrow and go searching for the restaurant we read reviews of. The food is good and the nicest restaurant in a while. It pours down, but clears by the time we leave. We walk back via a mall we find and buy a few things on the way. Like my new favourite strawberry water. It starts raining again but we keep going as it's not far. We decide to stay an extra night here and look into a street food tour.
