I don't sleep well. I feel like I'm always awake with my eyes closed until I check the clock and it's 3:45am. I decide to read for a bit and it works! I get sleepy, put my ear plugs in and sleep pretty well till 8:30. I get down from my 3rd level bed and have some noodles with Malcolm then rest again until we reach shanghai station about 12:10pm. There are a lot of ppl leaving but eventually we get our subway tickets and head to the hostel. The hostel is in a pretty central location. We rest awhile and settle in while deciding what to do! The internet is shockingly bad we can barely do an internet search! We head out to catch a bus tour around. The streets are teeming with ppl. Along the river front it's very pretty with a good view if the finance centre across the river. We catch the bus and take the blue line first to the finance centre and back. We then try and check out the tourist tunnel, but it's closed. We then go off in search of food, the can't find the restaurant we are looking for. Giving up we head back towards the hostel. There are lots of eating places there. Amazingly as we wait for lights we see the building that houses the restaurant we were looking for. The building is very flash and I feel under dressed. The food is expensive and tiny portions. Although pretty and good taste. I feel ripped off and wish we didn't find it! It's dark outside when we leave and we are able to see the famed lights across the river. The streets are still hard to walk down due to the amount of ppl trying to walk them! Shanghai seems to be a nice hip city from what we have seen so far. Clean and lots of construction.

Back at the hostel I put some washing on before showering. It seems to be the beginning of troubles. It's dripping wet and I have to get the reception girl to spin it for me. I have a feeling someone checked it and caused it to turn off, and didn't restart it. Then into the dryer! But alas, it seems useless. After an hour the clothes are still wet and they usually dry in 20 or so! It mustn't be heating. I try to adjust some settings and it seems to help a bit, but I'm missing my sleep. Eventually I have to hang it all out in our room before I can go to bed.
