Sunday 19th April
After a fitful sleep I awake to voices outside. It's nearly 7. After lounging a short while I get up. An easy pack up today as didn't get much out. It's brisk out, beautiful and clear. We find out a storm was responsible for the continued power outage. We have a very basic breakfast and leave just after 8. We stop for reflection photos and continue across the salt to fish island where we walk to the top for 360° view. One more stop for more photos and the next stop is for lunch about 1pm. We go off the salt section and it becomes very bumpy and dusty. Lunch is delicious and they had even prepared vege burgers for the vegetarians. After lunch it's a further bumpy, dusty trip for a few more hours till we stop to view the only active volcano in the distance.
About 50 min on we reach a lagoon. It's beautiful and flamingos roam the shallow shore and vacunias pass by. Not much further on we reach a second lagoon, larger with more flamingos and surrounded by snow capped mountains. This is one of the top places so far. Again we have shared rooms. This time with three other guys. There is 1 hot shower, solar heated I think. We share a quick freshen up and enjoy dinner!
Dinner isn't quite filling so we enjoy some of our brought snacks and play card games. The morning is early so I head to bed at 9.
