Sunday 19 July
An awful night. A flooded tent. So glad after checking my clock for the 'hundredth' time to see a time reasonable for getting up. We get the things into the car. It feels much better being dry and warm! We stop for the camp wifi which is finally working. We drive back for most of the morning before stopping for petrol and turning off the main road. The weather has cleared as we drove and it's now sunny and hot. We drive up into the hills. It's so lovely. We stop along the road to dry the wet things. The sun and stiff breeze make it quick. At the top of the hill there is a small emerald lake and ppl are paragliding off the mountain side. We stop at a musk ox farm and the visitors centre where they have giant vegetables. The soil is very fertile despite the short summers. Once we are set up at a camp ground we head back out and take a short hike around part of a lovely lake. We don't have much food left, but enjoy bread peas and potatoes for dinner. It's nice to go to bed with no rain!
