After a very teary goodbye to my lovely boyfriend at singapore airport, I headed off to Phuket....

sat 3rd oct - Rick said it's only 20 something days, then if we dont meet in Thailand, I'll be at the foster's residence before you know it meeting your family. Arrived in Thailand after a short flight, it was the most scary flight I have ever experienced, probably due to the backlash of all the bad weather around in this area? The turbulance made your stomach flip every time the plan dropped, everyone on the flight was scared you could see it on their faces. I got a taxi to my hostel, it was a doorway in the middle of dirty shops on a street. Was quite scared, but inside its very sweet. painted bright, you have to take your shoes off, there was a complete a****** at the desk checking in....who I now know as Andy!! I was taken up to my room, lugging my heavy suitcase up the stairs! the room was bright and big, I was the only one in it! the aircon is not turned on until 6pm! it is very warm in here. I got chatting to some people in the tv room, nice big sofas, nice atmosphere in the hostel. The bloke Andy from earlier is a complete twat, he must be late 30s 40s, thinks he knows everything, cocky, have no idea why he's staying in a youth hostel!! says he has 2 kids back home. comes from lancashire, but lives in london. He is the biggest bulls*itter I have ever met. He is sleazy and will not leave me alone and keeps getting too close and coming in my room! (he is next door) obsessed about drinking, asks me to go for a drink. I meet a young guy called Dave he is my saviour and comes with us. Nowhere is good or open, the town is crap there is nothing here, you have to go to the beachy areas for all the action. I retreat to my room soon enough to get away from him, and me and dave sit and chat upstairs. theres bean bags everywhere, its a nice hostel to chill out in, and then someone like Andy comes and ruins it!

sunday 4th oct - today dave took me on the bus...more like a waggon! to karon beach. we both had fun bodyboarding in the sea, the sea is very very strong, not safe for swimming. Beaches are gorgeous, tropical hills everywhere. Very nice, you dont get hassled on the beach as much as you do in Bali. Got txts from Ricky saying that he has arrived ok, met his group, dissapointed they are all middle aged, and his room mate Bert lol is, in his own words sh*t lol. atleast he gets to see everywhere he wants. I went for cheap dinner at a little local hawker place, 40 bhat, so cheap. good noodles! had bugs in my bed tonight, first time in nearly 11 months of travelling!! sunburn is killing, got moved to a top bunk and slept well near the aircon up high! I am feeling ok being on my own now, wish rick was with me ofcourse, but I can do fine on my own. Hope this week goes quick, I was going to move hostels, but then i loose money, and the bus is only $1 us to get into karon/kata beach where its nice and theres shjops and restaurants, so im going to go there every day until I leave. Im going to book a ferry to Ko Phi Phi, and stay there for 7-10 days, it looks gorgeous there. Then I will be heading on to Krabi.

Monday 5th oct - woke up with really puffy eyes due to too much sleep or sunburn! burn has gone down now though. Its raining hard today, so going to have an admin day. washed all my pants and hung them up around my bed!! got my old matress sprayed, clamped the sheet around it, and going to sleep in my silk liner tonight! so hopefully wont have bugs on me again. so today I am chilling, painting my nails, and this blog has took me the best part of 2-3 hours!! so thats it, expect an update soon guys!!
