Hi all,

We've been really busy lately, and havent updated in ages, so may have forgot little bits and pieces but here goes:

Singapore was so different to Thailand and Malaysia in that it was really clean and pretty, all the trains and busses were actually on time (not 3 hours later than advertised!) and everyone was really friendly - was a little bit more expensive, but not as bad as everone makes out. We packed loads into our couple of days there, and also experienced our first dorm rooms (!).

We spent the 1st full day at Singapore Zoo, then the famous Night Safari. It was the best zoo we've ever been to - no cages, just ditches to keep the meat eaters away from you. We were able to get really close to the monkey like orangutans too as they are 'free ranging' and just swing in the trees above you! The night safari was great, but we got soaked. It was wierd seeing the animals in the dark, and the bat enclosure was amazing (bats flew inches from our faces!).

The second day we walked around the city, visited the famous Raffles Hotel, and went down to the Harbour and saw the Merlion and Esplanade Theatre.

We're now in Melbourne after spending 5 days in Sydney - will fill you in about that very soon and get more pics up.
