Hey all,

We're actually writing this from KL, sorry its a bit late, having trouble finding decent internet connections atm. We got to Penang after a flight on the smallest plane we have ever been on - even had propellers on the outside of the wings!!! (pics to come)

Had a great start to our time in Penang when Amy fell off the transfer bus from the airport and busted her ankle - swelled up like a beauty (fine now though)! On our first full day we went up Penang Hill on a funicular railway, which was extremely steep, and packed so full we couldnt stand straight! The views were amazing from the top (made even better when we got to have a coffee and scone at this cute tea place!). We also walked around a rather large shopping mall.

The second day involved a trip to the beach, There is only one beach on Penang as it is very hilly - not the nicest beach we have been to but it was good to see. We got caught in some torrential rain on the way back - got absolutely soaked just by walking across one road! Never seen rain like it. (think of the rain that made them abandon the Malaysian F1 grand prix... it was worse!!!)

Malaysia is definitely a much more friendly place than Thailand, we just wish we had more time here.
