Well after a few week of luxury living in Adelaide it was back to hostels in Perth. We didnt mind as Perth is so beautiful and spotless!! WE had a wonder around kings park to take in the views of the city and of course checked out the beachesboth cottosloe and scarbrough were stunning pure white sand and crystal clear sea.
No sooner had we wrrived we finally got a job woo hoo! So before we left the citywe hit freemantle or as the locals say 'freo', there we did the the tunnels tour of fremantle prison, it was like getting geared up for the bridge climb allover again exept this time we were going 20ft below ground to paddle through the old tunnels where the prisoners used to work, it was a bit confined but but alot of funespecially the canoe section as neither of us could paddle, we were just about talking when we resurfaced. We had a well earned beer at the little creatures brewery on the harbour and finished off with fish and chips! all in a hard days work.
so after all that we had to get ready to start work we didnt have a clue what to expect we just new we had to get off the train at currumbine and wait for our ride to our new home for the next 8 weeks. The house was beautiful with a pool and spa and a big log fire in the lounge, only one problem the landlady is an absolute loon!
First day at work was very scary i nearly passed out when we opend the shed door to 4000 chickens, we didnt know what to expext but it wasnt that! needless to say we survived the first day thats the main thing. only another 7 weeks and 6 days to go!!
Two weeks into the job and its all going well, apart from being attacked by a Rooster they are horrible things if they take a disliking to you the certainly make sure you know about it! the work is pretty tiring we are collecting about 3900 eggs a dayits a bit tedius but we just put our headphines in and sing along. On a monday and tuesday morning we get picked up at 5:30am to go and weigh the chickens, thats the most fun , especially tuesday as its payday!
Unfortunatly the luxury of living in the house didnt last lon, as we cannot live with people working on other farms, we have been outnumberd and had to move into these dingy caravans at the back of the house, its horrible we look like hillbillys, its freezing at night and the sprinklers come on at 3:30am and spray onto the van! Heiki soon sorted that out. We cant wait to get back to the beach! Only 5 weeks and 2days to go!!
Woo hoo after a week of freezing our bums off in the caravans we got let back in the houseso its been nice warm nights again, the work is still boring but we only have 14 working days until we finish so we are getting all excited!
We have escaped the asylum this week on our days off to meet some friends in Perth i think were were just about going crazy there the landlady is a nightmare \! so we had our first night out in ages last night and we are feeling it today, im sure the beer goes to you head quicker here as we are upside down! so at last we can get soem pictures on for you, but its been that long weve forgotton how to do it!
