Amy and Meg's Adventure
After lots of fun in Byron Bay we arrived in Surfers Paradise with good news as we had been upgraded so were now in one of the appartments YAY! We were very happy and it was good timing as it was Bron's Birthday while we were here, we had our own kitchen and lounge with sofas and a balcony. We were here for 5 days and spent our days on the beach which is becoming our normal routine now but at least the weather is good. It was SO hot in the mornings we needed the sea breeze, we also did some brief shopping as Surfers is actually a big town with skyscrapers, our main time however was spent cooling off in mcdonalds enjoying the cheap ice creams! We went out a few times and it felt like we were in Jersey Shore lots of buff, gross tattooed guys which we avoided but was fun still. Bron's Birthday was lots of fun particularly because we treated ourselves to a feast, nachos and chicken fajitas, its was incredible as we sat on our own balcony and almost couldn't move from it we were so full!
Our next stop was Brisbane and we were looking forward to a break from the beach and to look around a city. We walked around the shops and even found some culture and history in the museum, then we took the free boat up the river and saw the man made 'beach'and lots of expensive looking apartments. The next day we got the bus to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary as we can't afford the Australia Zoo but it had everything we needed to see for a lot cheaper. After seeing the barn animals we went to the good things and hand fed and stroked the Kangaroos which were very tame and not bothered by us at all. After waiting a while one of them went boing-boing-boing and hopped across the grass we loved it!
Next up was the snake presentation and then the Koala presentation which at the end of we had the opportunity to stroke one, she was very cute and surprisingly soft. You had to pay extra for a photo to cuddle the Koala so we were glad we didn't as we had a good photo anyway and they carry Chlymydia so didn't want to risk that either!!!
After our break in Brisbane we were heading back to the beach in Noosa and heading to the Sunshine Coast, it didn't disappoint and we had good weather for all 3 days! Our hostel was nice and it had a pool, which we stayed around for one morning and then looked around the town. We shared some chips and then had a night at the hostel bar as they had a live band on, Megan even had her favourite MOJITOOOOOO! One day we managed the walk to the national park and chose to follow the coastal path which was a great choice as we found the perfect beach. It was called Tea tree bay at Dolphin point, the sea was clear, warm and the waves didn't crash into us, the beach was also nice, quit and very secluded we had a great afternoon here. Just before our coach was due on our last day we looked at some of the houses in Noosaville, you have to be a millionaire to live here they have a yacht jetty and jet ski's on the drive, we were tempted to swim across the river to have a snoop but saw sense in time.
Still working our way up the east coast and loving it but looking forward to our next stop as we are going to Fraser Island and actually get to do and see lots of things!
Sending lots of love and sun to clear the snow Amy and Meg xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
