Zdrast-vuy-te Russia!!!! (hello Russia!!)

Hi everyone!!

I didn't realise that this trip was going to be such an adventure in the first night! I got out of the airport and it was boiling!!! I met Eric the taxi driver (who kept talking very fast in Russian even though I kept telling him I didn't understand.....getting louder and slower but still in Russian!!) So those who do that in English, be aware it won't get you anywhere!!! ha! Driving through Moscow was beautiful (muggy but beautiful) going over the river and then past the cathedrals and the red square at night...more picturesque than I ever would have imagined! (shame I didn't get pictures!!)

So, Eric the lovely driver finally got me to the hostel and what happened you ask??? oh yeah, they didn't know I was coming! But never fear the Reynold's charm won him over and I got the room and a train ticket to St.Petersberg (phew!) Now, well rested and it being RUSSIA DAY!! I'm going to get a beer (no cider!) and some meat on a stick in the park and then bum around until I catch my train....good times!!!!
