So it's coming to the of our second day in Prague.
The only way I can sum it up so far is.. Sweaty!
We are in a four bed dorm here with two guys called Drew and Mic from Sydney, who are beyond funny. Honestly couldn't have asked for better dorm mates.
The only thing is there is no air con in the entire hostel. Which wouldn't be too bad apart from its been like 33c here the last few days.
Which has meant sleepless nights as its too warm to breathe.
First day in Prague we had breakfast and I was so excited. They had beans!! Which may sound sad but at many other hostels "continental breakfast" has consisted of a bread roll, so having hot food was a real treat.
We sunbathed for a while in the afternoon before catching the tram into the city centre.
I wish I could tell you we did something exciting then, but we were do got we just wandered round a shopping mall taking advantage if the air con.
In the evening we went to the old town (which is stunningly pretty) and came across this vegetarian restaurant - 'clear head'. I had to force Ben through the doors, but in the end he enjoyed it.
It cost the equivalent of £20 for a three course meal with drinks, and I can't tell you how amazing it was to look at a menu and be able to have anything on it.
Not to just look for the vegetarian option which is always either a vege burger or cheese pizza. This place was incredible!
So that evening we spent another restless night in the sauna, but woke earlier to go on a walking tour and castle tour. It was awful. I can't tell you how hot and sweaty we both got. However the tour part was very interesting and we learnt a lot about the history. We walked in total about six hours. I was very hot, tired, cranky and thirsty.
After the tour we were desperately keen to find any place with air con, so decided to get another meal somewhere.
We can across the art gallery on a little side street that had a restaurant. Turns out it was in the basement, so you can imagine how thrilled we were, as it was very cold down there.
The restaurant was decorated very art deco and was lit dimly, looked almost like a cave. The food was amazing. Traditional Czech, so not much for me. I had soup and salad, but Ben had the national dish of 'goulash', which is like a meat stew with dumplings.
Tonight back at the hostel our other friends, (Chloe and Lucy, also from Australia) arrived, so we spent the night with then in the bar.
There was a massive thunderstorm just now, the lightening was immense. So us, Mic and Drew went outside (mainly to cool down) to watch.
So that's end of my first few days in Prague.
Oh we both have mosi bites now, which sucks. Soooo itchy!
Also it's meant to be a lot cooler tomorrow, fingers crossed!
