The next couple of days of tour through the desert were both very early starts but - totally worth it. There was a lot of driving involved but yesterday we saw some incredible places including, the tree rock, Mountain of 7 colours and the red lake. It's also crazy to see the ice formations of the sand. It's a dry desert so it is covered in sand but, because it's so high and cold there are crystallised ice formations in certain patches on the sand ... crazy beau...

After buying apparently necessary supplies of water and Rum before setting off on our 4WD adventure we first went to visit 'The Train Cemetery' ... I'm not really sure why exactly this is a tourist attraction. It is a collection of old broken down rusted trains ... kinda interesting and fun to play around on and take silly photos but - random! This morning was spent checking out the Artesan markets in Potosi and wondering around a little more of the city, it's quite nice actually and has a much nicer smaller feel to it than La Paz. Most of the rest of the day was spent travelling; on a road that I'm sure wasn't really a good. Arrived in to Potosi, whos claim to fame is that they're the highest city in the world. Thankfully, after spending the last few weeks in altitude, this didn't hit us straight away. I think a perhaps more remarkable thing about this relatively small city is that it has 35 different churches - our city tour later in the day covered but a few of these, all very gorgeous - given that I love churches so much, it's my kinda city. Our time in La Paz was pretty chilled. Recovering from a busy couple of non-stop weeks through Peru. We hit the black market and the Witches Market on our first day, as it was Laura's last day she wanted to see a bit and perhaps some shopping.
