Oh god! Just landed in Memphis after a gruelling four and a half hour flight to Charlotte, where we had to skip to a new plane that flew us straight back to the home town of Elvis! I am exhausted, and to give times an even fluffier feeling we can't check into the Heartbreak hotel until late... Kill me now? I guess this was a good opportunity as any to get a little washing all squared away considering I was wearing my last pair of clean undies. Back to the front desk, "I still can't check in? Until 4?! KILL ME NOW! Well moping around wasn't an option so we decided to take the free shuttle to the Sun studios. Dubbed the birthplace of rock and roll, this is where it all started for musicians such as Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and of course the famous Elvis Presley. For a minuscule $13 we were treated to a tour of the studio and all the memorabilia to go with it. Our tour guide was a fun enthusiastic sort, who made us all feel part of the history and magic that is Sun studios. At the end of the tour he pulled out an old looking microphone, swung it around and exclaimed... Elvis stood on this very spot and sang into this very mic! Want a photo? Let me tell you everyone stepped forward! From here we decided to take a walk up to the famous Beale St, and grab some food! After our tummies were full we decided to check out Graceland. It was beautiful and well preserved, a must see if you ever find yourself in Memphis. Now if you are a car lover, you have to hit up the collection of cars and bikes that Elvis owned over his many years. How many cars can one guy need?? Really! Any who this took us to about 4pm so we toddled back to the Heart Break Hotel for a well earned rest and a little snack!
