After breakfast I went back up to my room and packed my bags as today we were leaving to Takayama. We caught a bus back to Odawara, and then caught a train to Nagoya, then another connecting train to Takayama. We then had a short walk to the guesthouse. This guesthouse was beautiful. It was an old mansion from what I remember and it had beautiful wooden structures and floors, just beautiful.
After checking in we went on an orientation walk around the village. Charlotte and I then walked through the old part of town and looked at the shops, then stopped off at one of the local sweet shops before going back to the hotel. The girls had to meet downstairs at 5.30pm so we could be fitted out with kimonos for our special dinner tonight. The boys also had to wear an traditional outfit.
After being fitted out we then had photos taken. Then we went into the dinning room and had our meal. The meal was really good but it wasn't really traditional Japanese food, it was more pretentious hotel food, but it was still good. All though we couldn't eat a lot of it as the kimonos were so tight and the lady who was serving us kept telling us to eat but we just couldn't fit anymore in. After dinner we were going to go bowling but the group ended up leaving without me so I missed out. Oh well.
