So this is where our blog might start getting a bit boring!! The travelling is over for just now and we are now immigrants trying to get a Working Holiday Visa so we can stay away for longer! Our posts might not be as regular but we will still try to keep you all up to date with whats happening!!
Tue 2/10
Step off the plane at 10am (5am to us as we are have not quite adjusted to the time difference!) Its weird but it smells like home and is cold enough to feel like home!! Thankfully we wore our trousers and had our fleeces at hand ready for it! It was nice to be somewhere and actually understand everyone around us!lol. Had breakfast at the airport before getting our bus into Auckland. The hostel had a kitchen so the first thing we did was go shopping and we had some much longed for crackers and cheese!! Tried to stay up for as long as possible but about 4pm we couldn't resist it any longer! Pretty much slept right through till morning!
Wed 3/10 - Sun 7/10
Spent the next couple of days doing very little! Think we were jet lagged for the first time on our trip! Been finding it really cold although its been between 14°C - 16°C most days. Got chest x-rays done and our visa forms organised and then we were told to apply online. It was more hassle than we expected, for some reason we couldn't manage to access the online form! Luckily Dave came to the rescue on Thu night and after a quick skype call our applications were in! The stress drove us to the drink which left us one down on our duty free vodka!lol. Met up with Michaella on Sun night and she treated us to a really lovely meal at an Angus Steak restaurant where we had our first taste of New Zealand steak, it was yummy!! Had a great night out with her and sat and had more drinks with some guys at the hostel when we got back, duty free bottle number two gone now! Its a shame you can only buy two on your way in! Or maybe a good thing since they don't last long sitting in the bag!
