Hey everyone!
we arrived in Krabi last monday, and it rained all day. Our leader was really good and arranged a trip to some hot springs for us, it stopped raining by the time we got there, and the water was lovely - although it did get a bit too hot and we had to get out! Jumped into a nice scabby river full of clay to cool off, no fish bites this time though!
The next day the sun decided to show itself, so we headed for the beach with one of the girls from our group. We were staying in Ao Nang which doesnt have the best beach, so we got a longtail boat across to West Railay Beach, which was possibly the most beautiful beach we have ever seen. Overdid the sun a bit though, and we were both a bit pink, but luckily it rained again the whole next day. Alyx still managed a swim in the sea in the rain though - it was like a bath! And Rach indulged in beauty treatments all day!
Thursday we moved onto Penang in Malaysia, which involved a nice 10 hour bus journey with a mental driver, but at least we were all allowed across the border!
That night 8 of us decided to find a few bars, but accidentally ended up in a brothel - the boys we were with were pretty scared, it was so funny! and Rach got a free cocktail from a very weird man. We then moved on to a Mexican bar, where we were given jungle drums and forced to get involved with the band by a guy who looked like someone from Mortal Kombat!
The next day we went round an old millionaires mansion which was really good, the guide was excellent and he spoke better english than us! then we attempted to shop - not a good idea.
we went into a mall looking for some linen trousers and some nice cool tops to cover our shoulders, but it didnt work as we're not size 6 flat chested weirdo's, and we got so fed up of the shop assistants practically trying to dress us - they're like pushy mothers!
we went for some reflexology later that day, and Rach had a guy who was a bit brutal, she didnt really like it, it was painful!
Went for dinner to a food court thing which wasnt overly enjoyable, and went to a salsa bar place after which was actually really good, but beer is pretty expensive here which is annoying!
We had to get up thismorning after 4 hours slepp which was not much fun, and then sit on a coach all day. We're now in the Cameron Highlands, but we just a had a nap thisafternoon and some dinner with the group, now we're off to bed as we've got yet another long coach journey tomorrow to Kuala Lumpur, its our first alcohol free day - we're proud of ourselves! Everything seems a bit to clear, its strange being sober at this hour!
