So our last stop of the guided tour was Singapore. We made it across the border safely and then had a short drive to our final hotel in, once again, China Town.
That afternoon, the group were keen to explore and do things however we knew that we had quite a few days to do that so we chilled, another reason for opting out of the sight-seeing was to spend about 3 hours getting ready for the 'final night'!!
That evening we all went to a really nice Chinese restaurant, then headed for a roof top bar with some pretty impressive views of all the city's buildings. The owner of the bar was the moodiest man ever and the drinks were really expensive so we moved on pretty quickly. Dressed up in our glad rags, we were both keen to have a dance but no one else was feeling it so they dragged us home. However, it ended up being the perfect end to a fantastic trip as once again, we took over the hotel lobby and had a mini party.
The next day the trip was over and everyone went there seperate ways, a few of us from the group stuck together and went across town and checked into a hostel in Little India (cheap and cheerful - 6 pounds a night!) - although it did smell of feet so it wasn't that cheerful!
We spent the next couple of days sight-seeing on an open top bus and did a bit of shopping. One evening we got dressed up and went to the famous Raffles Hotel to have a Singapore Gin Sling. It was a bit pricey though so we only had one.
Without a doubt the best thing in Singapore was the night safari. Based at Singapore Zoo you get to wonder around quite freely and look at all the nocturnal animals. We got a bit too close for comfort to some fruit bats hanging down near our heads but we were brave!!!
All in all the last 3 weeks have been fantastic and we already feel like we have experienced so much - Next, it's Australia for 6 weeks, we'll speak to you from there!!
