So following on from the Cameron Highlands (we didn't get up for the 'tea plantation tour' in the morning!!) we set off for Kuala Lumpur or 'KL' as the locals call it!
Arriving in KL we bussled our way through the busy markets of China Town to get to a rather luxury hotel. It was Rach's turn to have the double bed but Alyx didn't do too badly with a queensize!! (both draped with some rather sexy brown velvet sheets!!)
Our trip leader took us on an orientation walk around the local town and showed us all the spectacular architecture, we even got to see the tallest flagpole in the world! That night we shopped around the night market in China town and bought a few bits and pieces (tops and perfume) then ended up on a terrace bar that was quite high up. We got rained on but nothing could dampen our spirits - we were on top of a roof in Kuala Lumpur! it was great!!!
The next day 5 of us from our trip went to an indoor theme park - it was well impressive considering it was in a shopping centre. The shopping centre was ridiculous! it would take you about a week to get around it thoroughly! we gave it a good go though!
That night we all went out as a group to eat and then Rach went up the telecommunications tower with some girls from the group (if you look at the KL blog picture, the top of the tower is that round bright light in the top right hand corner of the picture). Alyx went to a bar close to the Petronas twin towers (also on the picture) where she had a great face-on view of the towers side by side. After the nightime sight-seeing we headed back to the hotel and took over the lobby and watched Borat!! Stupidly, we both stayed up till 4am chatting with a lad from our trip (Andrew, who we are meeting in Oz), and had a nice 8am start as well as we had to get on with the travels to Melaka.....
