After a 5am wake up we left Flores on our way to the Tikal ruins. We got there at about 7:30 and started the walk. We had breakfast on top of one of the Tikal grand pyramids and then set off to visit all 5 towers. They were huge and incredible. We wandered for nearly 3 hours and only visited 60% of the 22% of the uncovered ruins. It is massive! After this we went to lunch in a restaurant built on a lake. Then came the border. It was pretty easy, Andres did all the work and we walked from Guatemala to Belize. Finally we had arrived! Drove for about 10 mins and found ourself just outside the town of San Ignacio in an Eco lodge called The Trek Stop. It was little bungalows, nature, open aired showers and drop toilets. Felt like camping with a few added luxuries!
