We spent the second day of the cruise at sea again. Today it seemed like we were moving faster and the ship rolled some. We felt the movement for the first time this trip, but it is a gentle roll and still easy to ignore. As I am writing tonight though, I can feel it a bit more.

This morning we were up in time for breakfast at the Panorama Buffet. A woman sat down with us to eat. She was funny (funny peculiar, not funny Ha-Ha) and talked and talked the whole time we were there. The only time she stopped was when I said that I was trying to hear the announcements on the loud speaker. She did stop talking then, but as soon as they were over, she started up again. You meet all kinds of people when traveling, and I know all about her, her life, and her family now.

Next, we went down for one of the door prize drawings, but weren't lucky this time. Simon is the Assistant Cruise Director, and he did the drawings. He’s funny and had a good time with the audience. Since over one hundred of the passengers have been on this ship since it left Los Angeles in January, he knows many of them well. This is the last leg of their 2017 world cruise. The ship holds 670 passengers, and it seems to be full.

We missed a movie in the lounge yesterday that we wanted to see, Hidden Figures, so we watched it on the TV in the suite this morning, and then went to the dining room for lunch while it was open.

In the afternoon, we went to the Pacific Lounge for the Trivia Contest again. We found Sunny and d*** in the same seats we had yesterday. There was another couple right nearby who were playing cards. I asked them if they would help us if (when) we needed it. Ron and Lorelei from Utah were agreeable and were friendly and fun to talk with.

Tonight was the first formal night. After checking the menu for the evening, we decided to skip the formal dinner and go to the buffet. It meant we missed the Captain’s Welcome Party, but we’ll try to get to his farewell party. One of the other things that our breakfast friend told us was that the captain’s wife and child, as well as their child’s grandparents (but I don’t know which side of the family they’re from) were on the ship. She pointed out the little girl, a toddler, and the grandparents at a nearby table. So nice that his family can be with him. He must be very young to be a captain.

After dinner, we went to the Sound Bites Trivia game. d*** and Sunny showed up, too. No one else sat near us so we had no more help, but really needed it. The game turned out to be listening to cuts from movie theme songs to identify the movie. It was hard. We got seven of twenty-seven right, but the other team who was grading ours gave us one extra point for being close on an answer. The best team knew eighteen of the twenty-seven.

Tomorrow we will get to Aruba about noon, and we have a half-day shore excursion. There are no early arrivals in any of the ports of this cruise except when we dock to disembark at Los Angeles.

New Taste of the Day: Pheasant Soup was served for dinner. It was okay, but I don’t think I’ll need to have it again. Broth; very salty; some grains and beans that I didn’t recognize; only two small pieces of pheasant, and I had to search to find them in the soup kettle on the buffet.
