A great day for reading and resting. Phil was frustrated again by the inability of the Internet access to connect to anything. He expected it to be slow, but this is so slow that sites time out before they can load. The second formal night for dinner, but nothing we wanted to see in the theaters, so we made it an early night, looking forward to seeing Vietnam tomorrow.

Getting back to the guava we bought in Hong Kong... I unintentionally left it in the plastic sack overnight, but when I took it out it was much softer than the day before. Using a dinner knife that I brought up from the ship's restaurant, I cut into it to find a creamy-white center with a few small seeds. Another lazy day at sea. Another visit to the laundromat (but no drama this time). Another chance to spend the day reading and relaxing. The show for the evening was a comedian, Jeff Nease. He was okay. The theme seemed to be the problems encountered when traveling. Some of the jokes made me smile; some were a bit old. But he tried hard, and the audience was generous with applause and laughter. It was a nice evening.
