At least this time when I went back home for a visit, it was under better circumstances as it was for Christmas, rather than Mum having to be in hospital and being worried about her ! It was so good to see Mum & Dad at the airport when I arrived. I had only been home a few hours when Pete rang to say he was at the airport and would be arriving the next day too ! This was a wonderful surprise for me and so I got Mum & Dad to take me back to the airport the next day so we could pick up Pete. We spent the next week doing lots of sightseeing, including trips to Sovereign Hill, Mornington, Melbourne City Tour by Bus, Lygon Street to name but a few places. Pete & I also spent New Years Eve at Southbank, which looked spectacular when crowded & lit with fireworks. Unfortunately Pete had to leave after 8 days, so I spent the other week catching up with Darren, people from Macedon Ranges and of course doing more stuff with Mum & Dad. It was nice to show Mum & Dad some of the photos of places I had been in England, also when I stopped over in Canada & America & New Zealand on the way too. As I update this postcard for the website now, I suddenly realise I haven't been back home for nearly 3 years now, so it will be nice to catch up with everyone again when I arrive in Melbourne next February in time for the Games !
