Darren & I spent four weeks driving around both the North & South Islands of New Zealand, what a beautiful country it is to visit. Highlights include : sailing on Milford Sound, whale watching in Kaikoura, wine tasting in Gisborne, driving through flood waters just outside Wellington, going in a 4WD bus along Ninety Mile Beach, Darren driving up the steepest street in the world in Dunedin, visiting the Maori cultural centre and smelly but spectacular landscape in Rotorua. Unfortunately the mountain was closed the day that we drove to Mt Hutt to go skiing, because of 100 km/h winds, this was also the cause of our Hot Air Ballooning and Heli Skiing being cancelled too ! Oh and the beer in New Zealand is great, I especially enjoyed the dark Monteith Ale which is popular on the West Coast of the North Island.
