After a very uncomfortable flight I arrived last night in Lima. I have learnt to get by with Aqua sin gas por favour (water without gas please). Banos (toilets) and lots of pointing, games of charades and smiling for anything else. Everyone is really helpful though and friendly. Have got a headache that I am guessing is related to the altitude or it could be the continous beeping of horns outside my bedroom window all night - although it was nice to have a room to myself for once. Reminded me a bit of going to the Isle of Wight festival on the ferry where everyone is beeping for fun, however it seems to be how people commnicate here. Am feeling a little overwhelmed as when I walked out of the hotel to come to the internet cafe I got tangled up in a parade of 100 soldiers with guns!! Getting excited though to meet my new group. Have bought thermals and a hat in BA as I am not looking forward to camping in this weather.
