Blimey! Did it again! 910 wake up…… Lazed around and then forced ourselves out of bed at 10. What slugs we are becoming! LOL. Didn't bother with breakfast as it was so late but found ourselves a place on the sundeck by the -still- empty pool. It had been quite swelly in the night and the wind was still a strong 7-8 this morning. We managed to get out of the wind and it was boiling. Used the shower to cool off. The Jacuzzis are all still going but I don't like them. Too much like baths… they make me itch and my skin flakes off.
Had lunch and then to art to finish our shack paintings. I have to say that I am pretty pleased with my result. Its not even close to what some people produced but in all honesty that I have produced this painting that looks even somewhat like the subject is nothing short of a miracle. I told the art tutor so. A miracle. He looked like he agreed with me but was too nice to say so LOL!! No matter. A credit to his teaching methods. My rock staircase is a bit precarious. It was clearly not cut into the rock by a craftsman but I am assured this just adds to the atmosphere of rickety charm.
After art we rewarded ourselves with afternoon tea and cream scones. Well, Bob did. I had a cup of Earl Grey and watched him eat the scones all dripping in jam and cream, plus some nice looking Chinese spring rolls. I probably had the expression of a whippet tormented with a packet of pork scratchings……
Our internet time package ran out today so we had to take out another mortgage and purchase a further 1000 minutes for £200. That should get us home. It is extortionate really. Still, it keeps us in touch. Today Daisy travelled from Paris to London by coach. Well, I say today, I suppose it was this morning for us but tonight in London. Anyway, she got to Lucy's about 11pm which is good to know. She has got through to the assessment centre for the Premier Inn's Operations Graduate scheme which is on Wednesday at Heathrow. Fingers crossed for her but she has done well to get this far as it is super-competitive. It will be good experience at least. She's then staying on with Lu till Monday as it is Lucy's birthday weekend. In fact Lu is going to St Andrews for a couple of days Thursday-Friday night on another press jaunt. I hope she is in better shape afterwards than after the Jamieson one to Dublin or her birthday may have to proceed without her….. ROFL. Ah these mad young people, don't know where they get it from……
Went to see a comedian as the after dinner show. Hilariously funny. Literally howling with laughter.
Turning in now. Have to be up early for our arrival in Honolulu and our pass through immigration.
