Another lazy day. Much less wind today and plenty of sun but the temperature is dropping again as we head north east towards San Francisco in a few days' time. About 22C today. It will probably drop to about 17C by the time we get there. I lay on deck and read this morning. Bob went off to a lecture on the SAS from an ex captain. He said it was very interesting and not at all gung-ho.

We have discovered that the ship is not sailing from San Francisco till 830pm on the 31st (our second day there) and so we have switched our car reservation to the second day as it will be more relaxing. We have to be on the ferry dock at 630pm on the first day for our Alcatraz by Night tour. So we will spend day 1 in San Francisco itself and then Alcatraz and Chinatown for dinner that night. Then on the second day drive up to Napa and the wineries, do a bit of shopping that day.

In art we started our wine waiter picture. It's quite a comical one of a fat lady at a small table, a wine waiter pouring her a glass of wine. Under her chair is a dog looking daggers at a cat who is hiding behind the waiter. I have changed my dog to be a miniature schnauzer! It's coming very nicely. I quite like this sort of simplistic style.

Went to a ladies afternoon in the shops where they ply you with champagne and canapés, tempt you with makeovers and mini facials in the hopes you'll buy some STUFF. LOL. I had two glasses of champagne and no canapés and didn't buy any stuff…..

Nice dinner - the lamb shank again! Always melt in the mouth delicious. Then went to see a male vocalist, Paul Emmanuel Very good voice, much in the Tom Jones type of area.
