Hey guys,
excuse my delay, but the first weeks of settling in just kept me from writing, but here we go again :)
Our 2nd stop-over led us to super hot and humid Singapore. I was honestly quite afraid entering the country cause you can get penalties easily for simple things like chewing gum, drinking on the train etc., but everything was fine when we arrived :)
After some, let's call it "re-arrangements", Nathalie and I got a great hostel in Chinatown with a nice rooftop terrace and just very friendly staff and a nice room, where we were able to cuddle in a king-size bed :)
Our first day, we took some rest of course and strolled around Chinatown and the area. We had the spiciest food EVER (which was not even declared as 'slightly spicy') for lunch and after recovering from the spice alert, we met up with a colleage from work and went to a Porsche Design venue at the impressive Marina Bay Sands Shopping Mall.
The next days, we took the famous, touristy Hop-on-Hop-Off Bus tours to explore the city and the major sights. We went to see Little India, the peaceful Botanic Gardens, Gardens by the Bay and the ice-cold, but stunning "Cloud Forest", an indoor kind-of rainforest with a 35 meter waterfall) and we were constantly looking for food, because the Asian cuisine (especially Chinese-inspired Singaporeian cuisine) was unfortunately not our taste, so we were desparetly looking for simple rice and dumplings. In Chinatown, I actually saw my first, entirely dried duck and other curiostities, such as dried chicken feet, dried sea cucumbers and or cooked chicken heads :D
My eagerness to experiment new stuff is unfortunately not that distinctive, so I just kept to my nice, fried rice with egg and soy sauce :D
Due to the humidity, we were just sightseeing on a relaxed basis which was very comfortable and enjoyable, since we've got to see the major sights in a relaxed manner (travelling by bus hihi).
On our last day we had a drink at the famous Ku Dé Ta Bar on top of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel and we were also able to see spots of the famous Infinity Pool, which is closed for the public since its a luxurious hotel and who wants to be photographed all the time when chilling in a pool with the coolest view over Singapore?! However, definetly something to add to my Bucket List ;)
