We spend Chol Hamoed in the Blue Mountains which are about 2 hours outside of Sydney. We arrived in Katoomba and did a 4 hour hike around the area and got to see Echo Point, The 3 Sisters and some cool waterfalls! We also climbed down The Giant Stairway which is 900 steps (definitely a good decision to climb down instead of up!!) which was quite strenuous in itself! We got a really steep railways up the top of the cliff - it was almost vertical at points and was used to transport mined material up and down the cliff back in the day! We also took a skyrail trip back to Echo Point together with lots of Chinese tourists who didn't initially understand what we were supposed to be looking at until they grasped the meaning of a 'wallerfawl' and soon the word was being repeated around the cable car about 100 times as they all frantically clambered around to get the best view of the wallerfawl!
The following day we went Horse Riding in the Megalong Valley. My (alissa) horse was initially not listening to anything it was supposed to be doing but I soon took control of the situation and had it listening to me and following instructions! We trotted and cantered through the Valley which was really great but we were left with sore bottoms the next day :) Good times! We can't wait to horse ride again in Argentina....apparantly we were quite good beginners!
