Or more specifically the islands of Tahiti and Bora Bora. First thing to note - no stamp in my passport, for those with a European passport immigration is pretty straight forward, waved right through.....
Secondly, you know when you've arrived in a country associated with France when you get crossiants for breakfast.
First port of call was Tahiti airport (the main international one here in French polynesia) and an overnight stay to catch the short flight (45mins) to Bora Bora Christmas day morning. Really doesn't feel like Christmas day. Two nights in a fabulous bungalow over the water, yep you can step right off the lower deck into the blue waters (it's sand below, hence the colour). Snorkel on and off to find some fish and coral, thankfully they oblige on both. Follow that up with a spot of sun bathing - and that was my Christmas day......
Boxing day pretty much the same.
Then back into Tahiti for my last couple of nights in a hotel before descending on friends for the final week of my travels. Think I may need to use up the last of my insect repellant here - have seen a few mossies flying around.

Carol A fab way to spend Xmas. Looking forward to the photos. Hope you have warm clothes packed as it may be a little colder here than you've had for a while!
