Undeterred by the recent bad weather and reports of flooding we headed south to Hue. Fortunately for us any water had long since gone but it was still grey and miserable!

We spent a day touring the old citadel and the remains of the Forbidden Purple City. In another feeble attempt to do some exercise we hired some bikes and cycled out into the countryside to the Royal Tombs of Tu Doc and Minh Mang.

Last of all we made it to the Thien Mu Pagoda where they had the Austin car belonging to the monk who set himself on fire in a political protest.
