We stopped here for the night on our way from Christchurch to Mt Cook. Yet another lake in front of a mountain or is it a mountain with a lake in front of it?! Whatever......it makes a great photo. The following morning before we left we climbed up Mt John for a birdseye view of the lake and the surrounding countryside. Not bad!

No chance of us repeating our Mt Fuji climb as you have to be an experienced mountaineer to reach the summit (3,755 m). Instead we opted for the Hooker Valley walk which takes you as close to the mountain as you can get without actually endangering your life. Once again some amazing views (after the clouds had cleared)!

Yet another brewery tour! This time to Speights. You even get to pull your own drinks at the end. There are six beers on tap but no restrictions on how much you can drink!
