Oh - my - word!! My feet ACHE! We did so much walking today and there will be more tomorrow, likely more than today :/
So, it has been raining the whole time we've been in Boston. I wasn't particularly well yesterday, so decided not to play in the rain and just relax. Today, still a lil underneath the weather (no pun intended), we set out to the far side of Boston to check out Old Ironsides (USS Constitution). While we were there, we also checked out the USS Cassin Young. And the the Museum for the USS Constitution, Old North Church, Paul Revere Monument, Copp's Hill Burial Ground and Zakim Bridge. Just to mention the "notable" things. A little thing that the A.R. in me quite liked is that we caught the subway (as it was too wet to walk that far). We had to catch the Orange Line to North Station. AND - the trains for the Orange Line are...... ORANGE, hehe. Green trains for the green line, blue for blue and so on. How brilliant is that!? :)
Tomorrow the aim is to see the rest of the things on my list before we bus it out to Niagara tomorrow night - eek :/
Rewind to yesterday: We went to an Irish pub - M.J. O'Connors. The bar tender, Pete, is actually a real deal Irish guy (tho he did immigrate to Boston from Ireland 18 yrs ago). We struck up a good convo and scored some free drinks :) Next we moved on to dinner at PF Chang's (Asian). They have a special GF menu and for those with extra allergies, they have another menu that goes into ALL the ingredient details. A very delicious meal and a cool waiter - Will, originally from Vermont, who wants to become a bar tender :)
The day before yesterday we met an older gentleman who is staying at the hostel and he is a Christian Scientist. We had a great theological discussion with him, though it was a little bit on the shallow side, due to time constraints. We had hoped to catch up with him again while we were, but at this late stage of our stay, it looks like we wont be.
Now, I haven't bored you with all the historical info on all the places we saw today. In the last 2 days we took 270 photos, hehe. I will upload them over the next few days, into some specific albums; you can look at what interests you that way :)
Well, having a great time so far. Just wish the rain would let up. Got an 11hr bus trip to Niagara tomorrow night. Looking forward to the Falls - gonna go on the Maid in the Mist.
