Hi everyone, been out of touch with the wifi and I know some of you are keen to know what has been happening. So from Long Beach, we went out through Azusa, and up to the San Gabriel Mountains. We parked the bike at the parking lot, a mile long walk into 'base camp' Heaton Flats and then hiked 4 miles up into the mountains to camp overnight with a bunch of prospectors (Daniel, Jay, Fernando, Charlie, Ashleigh, Carl and Larry)- yes, really, true blue prospectors...

Well, I had such a good flight. Flew direct with Qantas, so only 13 hours, BNE to LAX. Meals were still a challenge, but I managed. My seat buddies were Allan and Vicki, lovely married couple from Bayside. We had big chats and were reluctant to say goodbye, but they were heading to Vegas and had to get going. So I had a 14 hr layover in LA. I chose a hotel, and I must say, the photo gallery of the hotel rooms etc did not match the reality. And the promised continental breakfast consisted of nasty coffee, unidentifiable baked goods, and a bowl of apples. So I skipped it.
