Hi Alison,
I'm back, in god's own country as they say.I've had a great time catching up with your blog & your photos are marvellous, well done you, you will be an expert at it by the time I meet up with you.
Have put together a wee parcel for the children will get it posted off tomorrow hope it arrives in one piece.
By my diary I think you should be in Singapore by now, how's the bath & running hot water, luxury I bet!! Maybe I should take a course in plumbing before I come & join you.
Have left you a long e mail so hope there is a seat in the place you read it. I'm away for a week next week doing the Speyside Walk over 4 days, it follows the course of the river so it is an easy one.My brother gave me a book of the Inca Trail, I was exhausted reading it & that was just to the first pass, slept like a log that night.I also read that Gingo is very good at preventing altitude sickness so I'll add that to my first aid kit, think I might need a rucksack for that alone, only kidding I'm practising at minimalistic.
You take good care of yourself now, look forward to your next installment.
Much Love, Jan xx

Looking at your photos and they are great. The children look very friendly and happy. Got your postcard from the Taj Mahal and it looked wonderful.
Were round at Gerald and Caths tonight and they are keeping an eager eye on your movements. Spoke to mum and dad tonight and they said that you phoned and are getting on well. Karen's horse Silver Birch won the national today and mine Slim Pickings was third. We are now going to retire on the winnings (£68). Met some of our new neighbours today and they have a s***su dog. They seem very friendly. We are moving out on 30 May so will need to put stuff in storage. Our house should be ready in June. We are going to seafood fair in May and are really looking forward to going home. Watching Taggart at the moment - I believe there is going to be a murder.
Look after yourself and we look foward to your next instalment on the "Alison MacCallum World Tour". (Do you know that Connolly chap?)
Lots of love Colin & Karen XXX

Hi Alison Well I've had the opposite problem to you...too much hot water in the boiler!!! All day yesterday whilst I was at work, water was apparently running out the overflow of my kitchen on to the plants outside. My neighbour downstairs was obviously quite worried that there could potentially be a flood in my flat and left me a wee note informing me what had happened. So I spent this afternoon in my flat waiting for the gas man to come round and thankfully he said that the boiler was fine. Anyway enough of my water problems... Have you been converted into a tea drinker yet after tasting it made the "proper way"? I'm surprised that the Ferguson sisters haven't made it out to Darjeeling yet considering they are tea addicts!! I notice that you've been frequenting a lot of palaces since you went out to India...have you not found yourself a prince in any of them??? I liked the photo of you dressed up as a Nepalise woman...you look like twins! Anyway I'm away to make my tea...hope to get an email from you soon!!! [PS - are you trying to test our mental abilities by making anyone who wants to leave a message for you solve a simple mathematical problem before they can proceed???] Love Laura xxxx
Agnes
Hi Alison, thank you for postcard it arrived yesterday (Wednesday) the Taj Mahal looks amazing. Next postcard send one with elephants or camels. You are doing well getting your photos onto the computer, just goes to show you are never too old to learn!!!!!! It was nice to see the children at the orphanage and Hope school. I am trying to make up another parcel, but I'm stuck as what to send the boys, any suggestions? Today is absolutely gorgeous, Brodie and I went a nice walk to Lonlia, remember where we went, when you came down to visit with your Mum, Brodie even managed a swim in the burn as it was quite deep in parts. I'm sure you will be quite sorry to leave Darjeeling, but you can always go back for a visit sometime. I hope you will find some nice travel companions when you reach Singapore. Anyway must go now, take care and enjoy the rest of your travels, Love, Agnes xxxxxxxxxx

Hello Alison, you look as though you are having a really fantastic time and the photos are fantastic, I am consumed with jealousy. Love the outfit would do for work , nice and inconspicuous !! Such is my jealousy that I have finally booked the fear of flying course on 28 April at Edinburgh Airport. The pilots looked dishy on the website so that might dull the pain of the experience. They tell me it's a successful course but they haven't met me yet. So Alison watch this space... Keep having a wonderfull time and I hope you get a hot shower soon .......Lots of hugs from Diane xx

Hi Alison,
Thanks so much for the postcard - it arrived this morning. Been away in Amsterdam last week which was great fun. Got caught up with your travelling tales and photos this morning. Looks and sounds sooooo amazing - you are so lucky. You are obviously improving on the technology front too - impressed! Well, I was at OH this morning and I'm going back to work on 30th April on a phased return. It's very phased - one 4 hour shift for the first week, then two non consecutive 4 hour shifts for the next two weeks then I'm off on holiday for the next 3 weeks. Not quite sure how long it will take me to get back up to full time hours - oh well!!! Anyway will keep you posted on how it goes being back.
Not much else happening here, oh except I got up this morning to find that my car had been burgled. However I'm not quite sure how it happened as the car was securely locked up with no signs of forced entry. The glove box had been emptied and all that was taken was the front of my cd/ stereo. Not really bothered - trivial things like that don't bother me anymore.
Away to do some ironing now - oh lucky me! Take care and keep smiling, Love, Carla xx

hi alison,l ooks like you having fun anyway!! You are getting there with your pictures i see.
Its annmaries 30th birthday this weekend, just a wee do in a pub nothing major, strata in queen st. Its more a gathering as annmarie calls it. So it should be fun. Been living quietly, didnt do much for easter break, boring as usual, did go for a swim with annmarie on friday though. Your not missing much here anyway. Teenage fanclub playing connect now as well and the divine comedy. I dont have tickets yet and probably wont as i am really skint, as long as the furries dont play i wont be too devastated by it.
oh well better plod on. keep the stories and the pics coming
