Today we heard about riots that had happened in the centre of Kampala due to the elections and were glad to be heading away from them. As we drove towards Jinja we drove over the dam on the White Nile which was covered by armed police and small tanks.... After the excitment of the gorillas the next two days were basically spent on the truck heading across Uganda. A lot of the scenery was spectacular keeping us amused until we reached a small town where we stopped for provisions before setting up camp to the sounds of election campaigning. After leaving Red Rocks it was a short drive to the border - changing time zones and the side of the road we drove again. We arrived in Kisoro in time for lunch! We were all in rooms this time - Bubu and Ana had their own room and the rest of us had 2 3-bed dorms to shared between us. Crossing over into Rwanda the scenery seemed to immediately change to lush jungle and better housing. Thatched roofs have been outlawed since the genocide.....
