Amsterdam- October 2008

The first time I came to Amsterdam, I was 17. It was exotic, excitig and enthralling. This time around, it was still fascinating. The red light district was shocking as ever, and it is interesting to be in a place where the people are so liberal with all things "taboo." I.e. drugs and sex.

The night life wasn't my scene. The crowds are there, but we came across some weird places. I'm sure there are good clubs; we just weren't sure where to look! It was a really good time though. It was nice seeing the family again, which was one of the main highlights of my trip. Some other highlights included visitng the Anne Frank House, taking walking tours around the city and visiting Den Haag, a coastal town with a long stip of beach. Bing winter, it was quite deserted. However, we stopped for lunch at one of the restaurants along the beach. Th time to come is during the summer, when the weather is warm, and the bars and restaurants along the beach are booming.

Amsterdam is a pretty city. It's great to take a walk along one of themany canals, take a tour to see the famous windmillls or relax in a coffe shop or cafe:)
