Hola mis amigos!

Today in the beautiful Caceres we had our first day of school! After a rough morning of getting up at 8 am, Katie and I ate some delicious breakfast and headed to the bus stop so we could get to campus! We had to use the public bus system and it was a real change from the usual calm cyride, there was lots of pushing from the residents and regular riders of the bus, but after about 15 minutes we arrived at our new school! The campus is very different from Iowa States campus, instead of many buildings it is one big building with different sections, and its FREEZING! Spain is lacking in central heating, and although its no where near as cold as the cold days in iowa, when its 32 degrees and there is no heating in the room it feels very, very cold. Apart from this small setback, the school is very nice and very modern looking. After some orientation lectures, we headed back toward our house!

We departed at our stop and headed down the street to our flat, only to spot that a lovely pastry store was open so of course we went on in and bought a very delicious pastry with some sort of pudding inside, YUMM! and only 1.10 EU! We then arrived at home and ate lunch with our host mama and went to purchase school supplies! After much shopping we once again returned home for dinner and had a very amusing time finding out that our host mama loves firemen and that we all love cookies with pudding on them.

After a very long and chocolate filled day its time for bed, becuase the real classes start tomorrow and a run seems like a good idea after all of that pudding!!
