The last couple of days have been spent in the Okavango delta, in Botswana. After spending a night in Maun, we were picked up by a truck and taken to where we would meet our mokoros. The last couple of days in Vic. Falls have been some of the best on the trip so far! After the helicopter ride over the falls, we headed for a rather nervous lunch before getting a lift to the gorge where our adrenaline day was taking place. We are now in Zimbabwe, right by Victoria Falls. This morning we took a helicopter ride over the falls, which was an incredible experience. They are constantly surrounded by rainbows, as the sun shines through the spray, and you can see where they get their name 'the smoke that thunders'. After leaving Zanzibar, we drove south into Malawi. Our first campsite was on the beach by the lake, in Chitemba, where we did a village walk. We visted an orphanage and the school, and then went on to the witch doctor who showed us all his potions and danced for us. The next day we carried on south to Chinteche, where we swam and relaxed on the beaches by the lake, and in the afternoon hired bikes and cycled around the villages. We're now on the island of Zanzibar, just off the coast near Dar Es Salaam. After a short ferry ride over here we set off on a spice tour of stone town, the oldest part of the island where Freddie Mercury was born. We visited the old slave market, and went to a plantation where someone climbed a coconut tree for us, and we ate coconuts as well as mango, pineapple, lychees and other fruits they grow there.
