Our first stop along the garden route was Wilderness, a town that lives pretty well up to its name. It's a beautiful little spot, right on the beach with forests and mountains all around. We finally arrived in Cape Town at lunchtime on March 15th. After so long on the bus every one was excited to be there, and though I've loved (almost) every minute of the trip so far 42 days is a long time to be camping and living on beans and carrots, so the city was a welcome change. Well the skydive was the most incredible thing I've ever done in my life!!! We were picked up from the hostel at 4, (an hour late- which didn't help the nerves!) and drove over to the skydiving club. There we were briefed on how to jump out of the plane and the correct position for the fall. They'd sorted out our order in advance, and I was last which meant a long wait! I wanted to get it over and done with, but actually it worked out for the best as it meant Mel...

We're now in Swakopmund, a very strange town in Namibia that feels more like a resort than a real town! The beach could just as easily be Worthing as Namibia! Yesterday was just spent on the beach, and then we went out for dinner where I had ostrich steak, which was gorgeous. Today we're going sky diving (for some reason, although I'm not too sure why!) Tomorrow we're quadbiking in the dunes, and then the day after we're heading off further south.

Tonight we are camping out in the Spitzkope dessert. The place we're staying is in the middle of huge rock formations, which we all climbed up to watch the sun set when we arrived, which coloured them the most amazing shades of red and orange. At night, the stars are the brightest I've ever seen- there's just no natural light here to block them out.
