It's nearing Christmas and I'm strangely missing the dark winter nights, shiny decorations in the shops and Elton John's 'Step into Christmas' on loop. But perhaps you shouldn't feel too sorry for me; it's a sunny 37 degrees here and getting hotter…
However, as it's near Christmas I thought I'd give out my address and a quick list of things that I simply cannot find anywhere in the Upper West of Ghana. I'm not trying to drop a massive hint, it's just a few people have asked me about it and posting on my blog saves me repeating the same thing in several emails. (Sending an email can easily take up to an hour with the internet connection so this is definitely the quickest way).

(I have to travel 62 kilometres on my motorbike to collect my post so please let me know if you're sending anything).
Here is a list of items that I would literally cry tears of joy to see in a parcel:
Mixed herbs (works wonders with the abundance of tomatoes here)
Spices, anything but chilli powder
Little pots of grated parmesan cheese
Dried fruit - apricots, cranberries etc
Mulled wine spice mix (you know, the sachets that you put in pan with lots of red wine and heat up)
Chocolate (anything that is wrapped in foil will probably travel ok)
Tin of coconut milk
Hair conditioner
Shower gel
Anything to stop my hair getting frizzy - mousse, serum, whatever!
Things for my walls in my room
Wind chimes and other hippy/dangly things for my room
Small cross-stitch (to stop me going insane in the evenings)
Crossword puzzles (ditto)
Any board games
Scented candles & incense
Nose studs
