It's been a busy first week! We arrived last Tuesday after being on different planes and airports for about a day and our first day was just FULL OF EXCITEMENT (no, actually we slept for 13 hours haha!). We got our bearings Wednesday, and ventured to the supermarket, but to our horror everything was extra expensive! We had been pre prepared about the expensiveness but somehow it still shocked us! Thus, our first shop felt a bit like the beginning of University, where you astonish that things actually cost money! Luckily, we've got used to things seeming expensive ($20 for 2 drinks anyone?!) and can buy a good value grocery shop in WOOLWORTHS of all places (yes it survives, but it's like a small Morrison's I guess?). Over the next day we saw a lovely lit up harbour and some kangaroos up close and personal! Scary moment: a 'Warning: snakes' sign! I was unprepared and even less prepared for being bitten to death by insects...! Although it was worth it to see wild kangaroos on their own little island (you can just walk on, it's pretty cool).
