20th May 2005 Today I left for Cuzco, the home of Machu Pichu!!! Ben decided he wanted to hop over to Bolivia for a few days so we decided to meet up in Cuzco next week. I took the 'Pony Express'bus to Cuzco which took nearly 9 hours!!! More like 'Donkey Express'! It should have been a 5-6 hour bus ride but the driver kept stoping at every town on the way and we we got stopped twice by the Police at several villages who insisted they search the bus!!! For what I have no idea! Anyway, after the long day I was met at the bus terminal by the hostel owner and taken to my hostel, which is situated on the top of Cuzco's town hill! I will be very fit by the end of this trip! I wandered around the town in the evening, which I have to say is beautiful! Cobbled streets, lots of shops - NICE!
