Have spent the last few days in Sierra De la Ventana a (very) small town about 12 hours south of Bs As. Yes thats right. I have finally left Bs As.... A little sad to do so as it is such a great place but very glad to be moving and seeing new stuff again. Daft punk was absolutely amazing by the way, possibly the best concert I have ever been to, partly because the crowd were so up for it. DJ Shadow and the yeah yeah yeahs were also very good.
Yesterday I climbed the Cerro de la Ventana (mountain of the Window) which was actually much harder than expected based on what I´d read in the guide book. It takes its name from the aperture in the rocks at the top through which you can see across the pampas to another mountain range. Unfortunatly there was a entire school of kids at the top but after extoling my love of Argentina (Me gusta Argentina!) they applauded me and allowed me a decent view.
Also at the top of the mountain I met a dutch couple and a german couple with whom I had dinner with that night. Thankfully the conversation was in English although a quantity of cheap (50p!) red wine was drunk which had the effect of exagerating the german guy´s sense of humour whcih was painful at best!
Next stop Pt. Madryn to see the whales!
