Just boarded the ferry to Norway!
The ride through Denmark was most unremarkable apart from the buffeting wind, Colin and I feel as if we have done 10 rounds with Mike Tyson!
Again the old fashioned map reading skills meant that we arrived in the right place and at the right time!
We rose up and parked behind a large group if German bikers; although I had expected more bikes if I'm honest and watching the number of bikes
disembarking I foresee us meeting up with lots of bikers doing the same tour as us.
The announcer has just told us that the crossing is likely to be rough - oh goody! Guess who forgot to get their sea bands out of the panniers? :-(
An hour into the crossing and let me say; if the captains says it is going to be rough he is putting it mildly :-(
The ferry is fast running out of sick bags; I haven't had such a bad crossing since we were travelling the Poole to Cherbourg route with the girls!
Feeling very frail and now the captain has announced because of the bad weather we will be an hour and a quarter late arriving- oh lovely! So what should have been a 90 min crossing has turned into an epic.
Those of you who know me well, will be relieved that we landed without me embarrassing Colin or myself!
A little bit of excitement as we came to disembark. Our bikes were placed against the sides of the ferry with cars down the middle to say it was a tight squeeze! As 1 elderly gentlemen was told to move his car out in reverse he put the car in 1st gear twice!! Could have ruined the German bikers holiday before they even got off the ferry!
Our hotel is very big and family orientated -luckily we are only here for 1 night.
